INTRODUCTION OF SCHOOL
Luoyang No. 2 Foreign Language School is located in Luoyang, Henan Province. It is a part of the Luoyang educational system and has been designated as a major school by the Henan Province Department of Education.  The school is located on Liulin Rd, just south of east Jiudu Rd., near beautiful Luopu Park. Here you will find the most modern facilities such as a synthetic rubber playground, advanced science laboratories, multi-  media computer lab, music room, art and physique classrooms, a modern library and piano rooms. As a foreign language middle school, we have the privilege of inviting English-  speaking foreign teachers to teach at our school. In addition, we participate in a teacher exchange program with the US-   China National Relations Committee. Many of our English-  speaking teachers have participated in this program as exchange teachers for a year in America. Currently, we have one foreign teacher from America, Gail Chou, who says she wants to stay here because of the administration, the teachers, and especially the students.  Our school provides the foreign language expert with a modern apartment that features many conveniences such as a microwave, cable television, and internet access –   at no charge. The apartment is conveniently located on the school grounds. Now we are looking for one or two teachers for teaching spoken English skills to middle school students.19-  20 periods per week, each period 40 minitues.Monthly salary of 3500-  4200 RMB(in a community where basic living expenses are less than 500 RMB per month), plus travel bonus. Ten month contract with renewal option.

SLCC Job

Southeast Asia Management Services. Inc. (SEAMS), in cooperation with Houston Community College (HCC), is seeking qualified faculty candidates who would like to teach collegiate level courses in English as a second language. Please review response to the job announcement below.

ESL teachers needed for two public Saudi Arabia Universities (Jeddah and Al Madeenah) starting September 26, 2009

Description:

· 40 Male teachers and 30 Female teachers in Al Madeenah and 40 Female teachers and 35 Male teachers in Jeddah

· U.S. citizens and native English speakers only.

Contract includes:

1.   5-6 days a week with a maximum of 30 hours – options of earning extra hours in tutoring.

2.   Furnished accommodation including basic utilities, plus local transportation provided from residence to work and back.

3.   Health insurance covered by employer.

4.   Airline ticket from country of residence to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) at the beginning of the contract, and vice versa, at the end of the contract, return ticket to country of residence.

5.  Twelve month contract with one month holiday included.

6.   The KSA entry visa will be provided by employer.

7.  The contract for one year can be renewed upon the acceptance of both parties.

8. Salary range is negotiable. Saudi Arabia is a tax free country.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree in English or similar with at least 1-3 years of experience or Master Degree.

2. Any of the following Certification courses will be a plus: ESL, TESL, ESOL, TESOL, EFL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA will be a plus.

3. Middle East experience will be a great plus.

Salt Lake Community College is looking ESL certified teacher

Salt Lake Community College is looking ESL certified teachers who can teach our Developmental Reading (RDG 0900) courses.  The majority of the students in these courses speak English as an additional language, but there may also be some native speakers of English in the classes.  The main purpose of these courses is to help students develop and improve academic reading skills.  We have two sections that are currently open.  These sections are daily from  7:00 to 7:50 a.m.   and 8:00 to 8:50 a.m. and are taught at our Taylorsville Redwood Campus.  Adjunct teachers are compensated at a rate of $580.00 per credit hour (RDG 0900 courses are 5 credit hours).  Classes begin on August 26th.  If you are interested and available to teach one or both of these courses, please send a resume with current contact information to the SLCC Reading Coordinator, Brent Green (brent.green@slcc.edu ).

ADULT ESL TEACHER — Part Time

Granite Peaks Refugee Outreach Project at the LDS Humanitarian Center; funded by the Utah State Refugee Services Office

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Teacher will be responsible for teaching one group of approximately 25 adult students, 3 hours per day.  Adult students are participants in a work training program, and receive 3 hours of ESL class, 1 hour of volunteer class, and 4 hours of work training per day.  Adult students are recently resettled refugee students from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and elsewhere.

Teacher may be assigned low-beginning, high-beginning or intermediate level ESL students, based on experience and preference.  Teacher will be responsible to plan and prepare for lessons.  Teaching materials will be available.  Two full time Granite Peaks teachers also work at the site and will be available for support.

Teacher needed 7-10 a.m. Monday through Friday *OR* 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Teacher will be located at the LDS Humanitarian Center, 1665 S. Bennett Road (2000 W.), Salt Lake City.

Teacher will be hired through Granite Peaks Adult Education (Granite School District).  This project is a collaboration between Granite Peaks, the Utah State Refugee Services Office, and the Latter Day Saint Humanitarian Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience teaching ESL to adult immigrants and/or refugees
  • Must interact positively with diverse populations.
  • Experience teaching and/or working with refugees preferred
  • Experience teaching adult students with limited previous education preferred
  • TESOL Certification and/or Teacher Certification preferred

ANTICIPATED START DATE: September 14, 2009 or sooner

SALARY: Pay according to experience and education.  Certified teachers paid on Granite School District’s hourly pay schedule.

This year’s K-12 interest section mini-conference will be held in conjunction with a consortium hosted at Brigham Young University with plenary speakers Lily Wong-Filmore and David and Yvonne Freeman.  We invite all interested individuals from any interest section–but especially K-12 interest section members, to attend.  Please read on for more details and registration information.   I strongly encourage you to consider attending this great event.
